JobRelay can now tell Google the moment a job is added, updated or removed, so new jobs show up in Google’s job search sooner and closed ones drop out faster.
New
- Google Indexing, which uses the Google Indexing API to tell Google straight away when jobs are added, updated or removed.
- Google Indexing settings: choose Off, Log only or On, and add your Google service account key. The key can also be set with the
JOBRELAY_WPCON_GOOGLE_INDEXING_KEYconstant in wp-config.php. - A Google Indexing section on the settings page, with Test connection and Send now buttons, the calls used today and a log of what’s been sent.
- See what Google was last told about each job in the Google for Jobs column and the JobRelay Data box, with a Tell Google now link.
- An admin notice and a Site Health check if Google isn’t being told about your jobs.
Improved
- Notifications are queued and retried if they fail, and stay within Google’s daily limit.
- On a copy of your site at a different address, such as a staging site, Google Indexing works as Log only, so staging jobs are never sent to Google.
