The history of JobRelay

JobRelay was born in January 2020 when we launched the very first integration with Broadbean. However the roots of JobRelay started a long time ago.

2011

Back in 2011, Mark was working as a freelance WordPress developer and picked up a large recruitment agency website build.

At the end of the build the client introduced a service they were using called Broadbean and they wanted to ensure the jobs they wrote in Broadbean could be posted to their new WordPress website.

So Mark set about trying to find a solution which ended up with a lot of custom code to complete the job. In fact he posted about this soon afterwards.

Integration Broadbean job posting with WordPress

2011 – 2013

Mark had many more enquires about adding this functionality to other websites.

Along with this work came building job boards and entire WordPress recruitment agency websites.

2014

It was clear that when building the integrations over the course of a few years, much of the work being completed was the same.

This led to the development of the WP Broadbean WordPress plugin which did a lot of the heavy lifting. This plugin was released on the WordPress.org plugin repository as an open source starting point for integrating Broadbean.

2015 – 2017

Over the coming few years the same plugin was used to integrate other services such as LogicMelon and Idibu.

2020

JobRelay was born in January 2020 – not the best time to launch a product with Covid round the corner.

It was clear that standardising how data was received from posting services and how data was sent and saved is WordPress was important. JobRelay delivers these consistencies and provides customers with support too.

JobRelay also works, regardless of the job board being used in WordPress. Previously this was not the case with the older solutions.

2023

Having integrated hundreds of WordPress sites with JobRelay, it became clear there was a gap in the market for delivering quality job boards in WordPress.

RecPress was released in order to provide done-for-you, branded, advanced job boards for WordPress which work well with JobRelay. This allowed us to offer the whole package to customers – the data transfer of jobs with JobRelay and the job board in WordPress using RecPress.

Today

JobRelay is being used by over 350 clients integrating more than 400 WordPress websites with job posting and distribution software. Over 25,000 jobs are posted out to WordPress websites each month by JobRelay.

We are also adding new providers, most recently Bullhorn and XML feeds. We are always looking to add new ones too.

Thanks so much to our integration partners for working with us to make JobRelay a success. And thanks to our customers to choosing to work with us.
